Who We Are

We are Family Experts in Mental Health

The Parent and Family Wellness Center is dedicated to supporting the emotional wellness of women and their families through reproduction and the transition to parenthood and beyond. Our mission is to see you, understand you, and help you navigate the physical and emotional place you’re in. All of our mental health and multi-discplinary providers have been trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) by Postpartum Support International and the Seleni Institute and have the knowledge required to appropriately care for new parents. While PMADs are a big part of what we support and treat, our collaborative partners also provide psychiatry, lactation support, acupuncture and chinese medicine, physical therapy, infant/child sleep consulting, and naturopathic medicine.

Kate Kripke, LCSW, PMH-C

In 2007, Kate founded the Postpartum Wellness Center of Boulder (PWCB), now the Parent and Family Wellness Center (PFWC), to bring skilled and appropriate perinatal mental health support to women and families around Boulder County. Kate has extensive training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders with a BA in Sociology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Smith College. Additionally, she’s participated in numerous maternal mental health task forces, most recently sitting on the Pregnancy-Related Depression State Advisory Committee convened by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Prior to founding PWCB Kate worked as an educator, program designer, psychotherapist, and wellness consultant for adolescents, families, individuals, and groups in New York, San Francisco, and Boulder.

In April 2023, Kate passed leadership to Emily Horowitz and is no longer providing services through the PFWC.
